I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a fan of most band tattoos (no offense to anyone, just not my thing.) I think of bands that were popular years ago, and most are either long gone or have drastically changed. Few band tattoos are iconic, and remain popular decades later–hence my hesitance to ever receive a band tattoo of my own. It’s commentary about things like this that seem to lead to tattoos with a bit of a back story in our inbox.

Following a post about just that on the TattooSnob Twitter, we received these photos. Even though I’m not a band tattoo kinda guy, I still have to say this is pretty awesome. Metallica is obviously a legendary band, and many would argue one of the greatest.

Kuffdam included, “I’m a huge Metallica fan, seen them 31 times live. This year I won a comp to meet them so got my leg signed by them and had the new album cover and digs signed.”
