Scott Campbell is calling for participants

Scott Campbell, best known for his long list of celebrity clients and his “Always Almost There” exhibit is currently seeking participants for his next project.

“As many of you know, I did a series of tattooed portraits of familiar people and characters wearing 3D glasses. It was a really amazing project, and the photos of the tattoos formed a body of work exhibited at Ohwow gallery in Miami. The overwhelming response from that show is really exciting, Now, I’m getting ready to do another round of tattoo portraits for a show next year. I am not doing any more 3d glasses portraits, they will have a different theme to them. I will try to do the tattoos over the next month, and then i will need the recipients to come back to be photographed during the first week of January. I’m charging $500 for the tattoo, and you will get a 30″x40″ print of your tattoo. 17 Portraits will be done in total, so slots are limited. i will start booking time slots for them next week. If you are interested in being one of the 17 recipients, please email Jocelyn at appointments@scottcampbelltattoo.com we will get in touch with you soon to explain more about the concept of the portraits and schedule an appointment.”

Interesting. . . . I wonder what the concept is going to be? $500 seems ridiculously cheap considering his hourly rate is $300 (with a $1,000 minimum.) The fact that you get a 30″x40″ print included this very intriguing.

Why would an artist even charge for this? I guess it’s still about the money…Another groundbreaking achievement for Financially Inspired Art! Chalk one up for integrity.
