You’re no Joe Capobianco, buddy
Posted by Julene on July 21st, 2010The folks over at Hope Gallery Tattoo were not pleased to see a photo of one of Joe Capiobianco’s tattoos used in a print ad by AJ Tattoo out of Trenton, NJ.
While Joe is clearly no stranger to having people try to rip him off, I understand his outrage. Isn’t it at least customary to try to conceal the fact that you’re trying to pass another artist’s work off as your own? Better yet, maybe they should have chosen an artist with a less recognizable style than Joe’s. Somehow I doubt AJ Tattoo gives a fuck about those little details, or even thought Joe would wind up seeing their ad… yet another instance when I saying, “bless you, sweet Internet” is completely appropriate.
I can’t help but wonder if the guys over at AJ will ever issue an apology to Joe (unlikely) or better yet, stick to using only photos of their own work in the future. What do you think, Snobs?
