Untraditionally Clockwork Orange

Posted by Julene on July 28th, 2010

When I saw this tattoo of Mark Blanchard’s, I knew there was a bit of a story behind the piece. He had this to share with us about it:

My client threw out the idea of doing A Clockwork Orange piece. My first thought was to use an object from the film that was no question recognizable from the movie. Going with the mask on its own I’m sure would have been enough to depict A Clockwork Orange tattoo, but adding another object just would have made it more interesting. So, thinking of another intense part from the movie, I went with the brainwashing theater scene and came with the mechanical eye-clamps onto the drama mask.

As they say, “That was a real kick and good for laughs and lashings of the old ultraviolent.”

Am I crazy, or does this resemble a sea horse?

  • Gnargusto

Yup. The first thing to come into my head-seahorse.

ARTIST! Truly amazing and creative, I saw it all immediately …these two guys must have been 69ing each other in a phone booth to see seahorses… BRAVO!!!
