Paradise Tattoo Gathering in Denver?

Is Denver the next location for the Paradise Tattoo Gathering? The dates are up for 2011, but it doesn’t say where…

If you’re not familiar with the event, watch the video below. It’s a one of a kind event, and I can’t wait till I’m actually able to attend one myself.

A Stroke of Genius 2?

Less than four months after opening A Stroke of Genius, it appears that Jason Ackerman is now planning to open a second location. I haven’t heard any details yet, but congratulations to Jason and the shop. I know they’ve all been busting their chops, and still managing to hit conventions.

Corey Miller off L.A. Ink?

While I’ve never watched a full episode of L.A. Ink, I do know that Corey Miller has been on the show since day one. That’s why I think it’s interesting that he’s no longer listed on the High Voltage Tattoo website.

Does this mean Corey is no longer with the show?

The Hell City Documentary?

Apparently Hell City is making a documentary this year at the conventions? The image below was posted to their Facebook page last night.

This is the first I’ve heard about it, and I don’t know any details right now. I think it’s same to assume that filming will take place in both Columbus and Phoenix this year. Knowing Durb, I’m sure he has old footage from previous years as well.

If you’re interested in seeing this first hand – remember our Win a trip to Hell contest is going strong. For $10 you could win a trip to Phoenix, and basically have the entire weekend covered.

Hell City iPhone app?

There’s a rumor floating around that Durb Morrison has created a Hell City iPhone application to accompany the annual tattoo fest in Columbus, OH and Phoenix, AZ. I’m sure this isn’t a surprise to anyone, as Durb tends to be an innovator in his work, especially when it comes to the Hell City events.

Hopefully we’ll know more soon.

New York Ink?

Earlier today I accidentally stumbled upon this:

Original Media is looking to cast a tattoo enthusiast to receive a FREE tattoo on camera for an upcoming TLC series.  We are working with a masterful tattoo artist who has is a favorite amongst NYC celebs and socialites.  The design will be floral in nature and of our choosing.  Must be available all day and evening, Saturday, September 26th for shoot in NYC.

Must be 18 or older to apply. This is a terrific opportunity for anyone who would like a beautifully designed floral tattoo, expertly applied by a NYC tat master!

Now I’m just speculating here, but is TLC getting ready to launch New York Ink?

Before you doubt me, let’s recap TLC’s reality tattoo television history:

  1. Miami Ink ended in 2008, after four trendsetting seasons.
  2. During two of those seasons, the show competed directly against it’s sexier sibling, LA Ink.
  3. Kat and the crew at LA Ink are now wrapping up their third season . . . .

If this is indeed true, TLC is making a very smart move here. Get viewers familiar with a new young hip tattoo shop during the last year (or two) of LA Ink. I’m sure TLC will arrange some sort of interaction between the two shops. Maybe Kat passing the torch in a very motherly manner? If that doesn’t do the trick, I’m sure some traditional shit talking will suffice.

Furthermore, what better place to start this shop than NYC?

Again, I’m just speculating but it does make sense.
