Awards for the manliest of the men

Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be taking home a trophy at Man Day. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not scared of a bowl of hot wings – I just don’t think I’ll be able to complete against the manliest of the men.

Now if a quick typing event is added to the agenda – save the trophy for me.

Hey Monday morning!

This pretty much summarizes how I feel about Monday morning… No offense Monday morning, you just seem to bring out the worst in people.

Swimming season

Given how incredibly hot it’s been in New York this summer, swimming seems to be one of the few reliefs NYC’s citizens can enjoy. I can only imagine how much fun it’d be to get tattooed in that kind of weather. This seems like it’d be a fun little ditty to do mid-heat wave, though.

Just dew it

Anthony Tortoriello shot this wild self portrait between runs this weekend at the Chicago Dew Tour.

Anthony has been posting pictures of the actual runs on his Facebook page all weekend.

DoomSnail

Sometimes, a home is just a home–regardless of what (or whom) used to inhabit it. Unless you’re living in a skull like the little guy below. That’s just wrong!

In the roses

I’m not sure of the history behind the [blank] inside of a traditional rose tattoo, but I will say this adorable baby penguin looks like he (she?) belongs there. Traditional rose-dwellers be damned!

Seeing time

I never cease to be amazed at the detail Victor Portugal puts into his tattoos. He’s easily in my top five (current) favorite black and gray tattooers. Anyone else with me on that?

Commit to grow

Friday’s a good day to commit to something… like pretty flowers, for instance.

Sweet and blue

Is it just me or is sky blue starting to appear more often in modern traditional tattooing? Regardless, it grows on me more & more every time I see it being used liberally.

It’s an Australian thing…

Right? I’m hoping it’s Australian and there’s not an underlying New Zealand joke playing into this. On an entirely unrelated note, I realized one of my favorite t-shirts is a Stevie Edge print so I’m glad I saw these tadoo’s. (Second one can be seen here.)
