Nunquam Dormio Vol. I Book Release & Art Show
Miami, Florida isn’t a place we talk about much–but since Art Basel is December 1st-4th, it only makes sense that something good is happing on the Lower East Coast. Omerta Publications is having a book release party and art show in celebration of the release of their first project, Nunquam Dormio Vol. I.
The book, curated by Javier Betancourt & Jason June, features work from over 30 international artists. The book will be available for purchase, along with some of the artwork by the artists. Details below, or you could let them know you’re attending via Facebook.

Speaking in Tongues
On Friday, June 3rd, Black Vulture Gallery will have the opening night of “Speaking in Tongues.” The event runs from 6pm to 11pm, and features paintings by over 60 artists from all over the world, live music by Samsara and Decap Attack, and complimentary food and cocktails as usual.

Big Gus talks about Black and Grey’s Finest
Jinxiboo recently interviewed Big Gus, a true powerhouse in the field of black and gray tattoo work. His soon to be released book, Black and Grey’s Finest, boasts an impressive list of contributing artists–you can easily see how it would take two years for this book to come into being.

Valentine’s show benefit for Children’s Hospital of LA
The Dolarosa Tattoo Company is holding a love-themed art show on February 13, 2011 in Studio City, CA. All profits will be going to the Children’s Hospital of LA. There’s a pretty nice grouping of artists listed on their flier, so why not stop by if you’re in the neighborhood and pick up some artwork for a good cause? Valentine’s mini-show at Butterfat Studios
Check it: Butterfat Studios in Chicago is holding Valentine’s mini-show this Saturday, Feb. 12 from 6 – 10 pm. They’ll be featuring undergarment-themed artwork, including boudoir photography by Lucy Hewett, drawings by Esther Garcia and watercolors from her apprentice, Genevieve Yapelli. Oh, let’s not forget the boob cupcakes and cookies from Rachel Adams!
