New clothing from Gunnar & Russ Abbott

Steadfast Brand released not one, but two new shirts today featuring art from tattooers. The first is a girl’s shirt with an owl from Gunnar, and the second is the 3G Network by Russ Abbott. If you’re interested, the owl shirt can be purchased through Journey’s and 3G Network is available at Steadfast’s Online Shop.

Hopefully the next shirt Steadfast Brand releases is a Dia de los Meurtos signature design from Gunnar…

New swag from Hell City

With Hell City less than two weeks away, all of the new gear is starting to roll in. Below is just one of the many shirts that will be available for the event.

Obviously I can’t mention Hell City without reminding you that all weekend in Columbus you can participate in our Twitter giveaways – Catch us if you can! We’ll also be selling raffle tickets for our Win a trip to Hell City Phoenix throughout the weekend.

Unknown Tattooer?

I know we poke a lot of fun at L.A. Ink but really, I don’t have anything against Dan Smith. Though I’m a little confused about this “unknown tattooer” tag on the back of this newly released shirt

Machete Premium Cuts

I was recently introduced to Machete Premium Cuts-I guess they do a lot of distribution of American brands in Canada and also distribute a line of their own. Personally I’m a fan of the  Hopeless tank below, but there’s more than a few shirt styles available on their site. Might as well grab yourself a few with summer just around the corner!

The Ed Hardy Boyz

In a world filled with Ed Hardy shirts, bathing suits, cologne, pet clothing, water, beer, vodka, wine, hand sanitizer, and popcorn – I’m thankful we can always rely on the Ed Hardy Boyz.

Upper Playground x Fashion Delivers Haiti Relief

Upper Playground has teamed up with Fashion Delivers to donate clothing to the people of Haiti. For every purchase made January 21st-31st, Upper Playground will donate a shirt to Fashion Delivers.

To help drive sales, Upper Playground has put all merchandise on sale for 50% off in the Upper Playground stores, as well as the web store.

Take girls out to the “old ballgame”

While I’m not 100% sure, I’m willing to bet Darren took this picture in the midst of some serious good times at a Mets home game.

Spring’s sorta-kinda almost around the corner, thankfully.

#FollowFriday – Clothing companies

Last week we covered Tattoo Artists, so today we’re going to move onto clothing companies. I don’t typically get into brands, but these three companies are exceptions. Heavily influenced by the tattoo world, and often designed by tattoo artists – these three companies make multiple appearances in my closet.

Sullen Clothing – Sullen makes regular appearances on this website, and for good reason too. Sullen supports over twenty different tattoo artists through signature t-shirts, fund raising events, and various online media.Rebel 8 – Legendary artist and former tattooist Mike Giant is the design inspiration behind this clothing company. Rebel 8 has a mixture of graffiti inspired tattoo related clothing with a dash of hipster fashion. I personally tend to stay away from the fixed gear designs, and stick strictly to the tattoo themed shirts.

To Die For – Before there was a Miami Ink, Tim Hendrix and Chris Garver were designing shirts for To Die For. That was probably seven or eight years ago, and this company has made appearances in my closet since then. Before you write this company off and make a snide remark about the Miami Ink reference, at least check out the clothing.

Just like I did for the ‘Tattoo Artists‘ – I created a list for this group as well. I simply labeled it ‘Style‘ as we’ll be adding more companies to this list that go above and beyond clothing.

These lists are aimed at making it easier for people to follow this group, and they’ll grow as we continue to talk about new and different people and companies.

Rebel 8

I’ve always been a fan of the overall style of Mike Giant. I don’t know what it is about his style, but it grabs me. The graffiti, his pseudo traditional eagles and snakes, the tattooed girls – I like it all. He was always on my list of people I wanted to get tattooed by, but he unfortunately took a step back and no longer professionally tattoos.

Last year I stumbled across Rebel 8, a clothing line that features Mike Giant’s artwork. Since discovering them, they’ve quickly become one of my favorite brands. Each season the Rebel 8 line continues to grow, expanding their men’s and women’s line, and various accessories.

Pictured throughout this entry are my personal favorites from the newest line, Fall ‘09. The new line dropped this week, and features Mike Giant’s recognizable art in a variety of cuts and styles. All of the new pieces are available on the shop section of the Rebel 8 site, as well as a handful of boutiques across the world.
