Following Liz Cook

It’s always good to hear Liz Cook, especially when she sends pictures and news we can share. I’m particularly excited to tell everyone that Liz has finally officially caved and started a Twitter account. I was even more excited to read her plans for 2012:

Late January will have me flying back in to Dallas and preparing to start off the year by getting straight in to a busy convention schedule for 2012. The first lot of conventions I will be doing is Inked Hearts, then the Amarillo Ink Life Tour, followed by the Detroit Motor City Expo. I’m pretty booked up for these 3 shows but I will be announcing a lot more conventions for 2012 and booking for them soon, as well as taking bookings for Dallas throughout 2012.

The Josh Duffy interview

Recently I had the opportunity to sit down and talk to Josh Duffy of MD Tattoo Studio. I didn’t have a formal list of questions to ask Josh, we merely just sat down and let the conversation go wherever it went. During the conversation, Josh talks to us about his style of tattooing, some of his favorite conventions, what it’s like to tattoo in Southern California, and he explains how he knows Jim Sylvia.

Video Recap: The 2011 Detroit Motorcity Tattoo Expo

Last week I posted the pictures from the Detroit Motorcity Tattoo Expo, this week it’s the video. I’ll stop typing now so you can watch it.

Motorcity Expo Snapshots

Below are just several pictures I took from the Detroit Motorcity Expo this past weekend. If you’re interested in seeing all of the pictures, head over to the Tattoo Snob Facebook page.

While you’re over there – I’d really really appreciate if you can start tagging some pictures! With the ridiculous amount of video I shot and pictures I took, I wasn’t the best about writing many notes…

The Pint Sized Motorcity show

Last year during the Detroit Motor City Expo, Durb walked around and handed out the canvases for the original Pint Sized Paintings book. It’s only fitting that all of the paintings will be on display this year.

If you’re not familiar with the Pint Sized Paintings, check out our interview with Durb about the project.

Recap: Detroit Motor City Tattoo Expo

As most of you probably know, this past weekend was the Detroit Motor City Tattoo Expo. This year marked the 15th anniversary of the show, and despite the bad weather – the turnout was great. The artist turn out was nothing short than stellar, and the floor was packed all weekend.

As always, I brought out my camera and tried to capture some of the quality work that surrounded me. I snapped entirely too many pictures to post on here, so I’m just going to post the cream of the crop. Please remember, my photography skills are amateur at best.

If you’re interested in seeing all of the mediocre pictures I took, become a fan of Tattoo Snob on Facebook. All of the pictures from this past weekend are posted in the albums.
