WW: Feathers, flowers, and berries

How many males do you know that have a Quail feather and a flower with berries tattooed on their chest?

Nothing about this tattoo here is ordinary, and I absolutely love it.

Pretty pansy

Pansies run more along the lines of being cute than romantic. It’s always nice to see a flower that doesn’t receive much attention in a tattoo.

Swingaling

If anyone can name all the types of flowers used as influence for this piece, I think the rest of us would be mighty impressed.

Dandy Lion

Burke sent us this photo of his two week old rib piece, obviously still fresh when the photo was taken. He mentioned that while dandelions (yes the flower/weed, depending on if you’re a yard owner) hold a special significance to him, a flower tattoo just wasn’t what he was after. I find this dandy lion to be quite a fancy alternative.

Commit to grow

Friday’s a good day to commit to something… like pretty flowers, for instance.

Stop to smell the flowers

When I first saw this photo I had to stop and look at it twice to make sure I wasn’t imagining the flowers were accompanied by gear pieces. This whole piece looks pretty fresh and I’m sure wearing underwear for the next few days was a rough time. If you’d like a double-take piece of your own from Ivana, she has two guest spots scheduled at Off the Map Tattoo in September.

Intended view

To see this tattoo as nature and the artist intended, click-through. Unless you’re at work, in which case you should probably just wait until you get home.

In bloom

Hopefully the weather isn’t too warm and there’s flowers in bloom wherever you’re at this fine Sunday. (Unless it’s not Sunday because you’re on the opposite side of the world, I guess.)

There’s something about Salgado

A few days back Juan Salgado uploaded photos of some of his newer work. I have to say after having seen his handiwork in person in Columbus, I am totally floored by the colors this guy uses. Yes, his tattoos are absolutely gorgeous in photos… but that doesn’t hold a candle to how vibrant they appear in person
