The Californians Wolf’s Head

Eric Kuiken does a lot of quirky tattoos, but this tattoo is a little more main stream.

I know a handful of people are tired of the animal carcass over the head thing, but I’m still digging these pieces.

Suited up

I don’t know if there’s any particular reason, but the number of tattoos done by Honkey Kong with a (potentially) political message seems be on the rise.

Of course, I could be totally wrong. This elephant might just happen to own a man-suit, a gun, and an attitude problem.

Start your Monday morning off right

I don’t think there’s a better way to start off Monday morning.

Video: Zoom in and take a closer look

In my last post, I speculate whether or not time-lapse tattoo videos appealed to your average tattoo client. Along those same lines, what do you think about the detailed video recap like the one below? It’s obviously a great way to get a detailed show of a tattoo, but is it more effective than a quality picture?

With over one hundred videos on their Youtube Channel, the king of these videos is Guru Tattoo. I can only assume they take the time to do this because people talk about the videos, right?

Blurring it out

At first glance, I thought there was some kind of camera malfunction when Paul took these photos. Then I realized he   blurred out all the surrounding tattoo work he did not do. I’m always intrigued by how tattooers choose to show which work is (and more importantly, isn’t) theirs when they post photos online. Big X’s, blackouts and blurs seem to be the most popular.

Do any of you have a preference about which approach a tattooer takes? Why?

Look afar, look close

I always appreciate a full view of a detailed sleeve, but I really appreciate a detailed shot.
