I see more and more of these everyday. I don’t love them, and I don’t hate them – they’re just “meh.” While I can’t deny the endearing qualities of tattoo work based on a child’s drawing, I don’t think I’ll ever join that club.
I’m willing to bet if you show this tattoo to a female though, you’d be in like Flynn. Maybe I’ll get something like this, and claim my son did it?

Dr. Dossey of the Stress Management Center and Phobia Institute claims that the United States economy suffers $800 to $900 million every Friday the 13th because of people’s superstitions. On the other side of the coin, tattoo shops typically hold special event on this day to celebrate the superstition, and to have some untraditional fun.
Even though this upcoming Friday the 13th is the third one this year, there isn’t a shortage of shops holding special events. Here’s a list of shops (in alphabetical order) that notified us they were having some type of event:
454 Tattoo (in Encinitas, CA) will be doing a $13 tattoo of some sort. (Sorry, I didn’t receive any details about this one.)
Black Hive (in Jacksonville, FL) has two sheets of flash featuring pieces to choose from, and will tattoo any of them on your arm or leg for $13.
Hand of Glory (in Brooklyn, NY) will be doing $13 tattoos from 12pm to 11am. I don’t know too many other details, but you can see a picture of the available tattoos here.
No Regrets (in Oklahoma City, OK) is starting at 2pm with a number of designs for $40.
Stained Skin (in Columbus, Ohio) has a pre-made flash sheet full of $13 tattoos. The event starts at 5pm, and it’s first come first serve. I’m told people were being tattooed till 2:30am last time the shop did this.
