Pin-up Day: Breaking it down

Yesterday I asked you what you wanted to see in 2012 from Tattoo Snob. We received a ton of great feedback, but more theme days and details about what we see in great tattoos were said more than once. With that being said, we obviously heard you on more theme days and I’m going to (briefly) talk about why I love this tattoo.

I’m not a tattoo artist. I’m merely a collector and a fan. So I won’t be discussing tattoo tricks or how to make something look a specific way, instead I’m just going to talk about my favorite part of this tattoo. Look at the lingerie. The transparency of this is something else. Look at the wrinkles in the fabric, and where the the fabric overlays her body and other objects. Wow, right?

The haters will probably leave a snide anonymous comment about her left hand, or her right elbow being soft. Don’t pay attention to that. This is most likely the first sitting for a tattoo, and a quality tattoo artist like Keith Ciaramello will fix both of those things in a second pass.

Video: Time-Lapse Mania

I feel like time-lapse tattoo videos are at an all time high right now. The real question is, do you watch them? If you’re currently reading this, chances are you do… but what about the average tattoo client?

I think it’s an interesting conversation, and I’m curious to see how many clients go to a specific tattooer because of a video like this.

Keith Ciaramello’s traditional work is SCARY

Ok, maybe scary wasn’t the best word for it. Sexy, clean, and solid would probably be much more appropriate.

“Tattoo of me, by me”

Hot off Keith Ciaramello’s Twitter this morning:

Keith Ciaramello versus DVD Bootleggers

We don’t normally post too many industry related topics here on the website. I feel like most tattoo collectors don’t really care about that, plus Tattoo Artist Magazine does a great job with that coverage already.

With that being said, Keith Ciaramello recently posted this YouTube video about his DVD being pirated on eBay. In the video, Keith explains a friend ordered his DVD from specific users (and he even mentions whom those users are.) Keith goes onto to open the package, on video and shows it’s just a copied DVD.While this type of thing has been going on forever, it’s nice to see Keith approaching it head on.

If you’re a tattoo artist or collector that’s interested in the industry, you’ll probably enjoy this video. If not, disregard everything above and check out this killer bulldog tattoo Keith did below.

Keith Ciaramello officially announced that Kris Buschring is now working out of Kustom Kulture Gallery. I don’t have any other details as of right now, but I’m sure we’ll know more soon.

Ciaramello claims #NYINK

Does anyone else think it’s hilarious that Keith Ciaramello has been placing the hash tag #NYINK in all of his Twitter posts?

Kustom Kulture Ink seeks artist

Keith Ciaramello is seeking an artist for his shop, Kustom Kulture Ink. All interested parties should e-mail kustomkulture@optonline.net, with info and portfolio links/attachments.

As you can see from Keith’s work below, he’s the real deal. I’m sure any tattoo artist working in this shop will have a great time, and learn a thing or two.

Superb-owl

Superb-owl! Get it?

Unfortunately I can’t take credit for this witty title, as I snatched it from Keith Ciaramello.

Hell’s Kitchen?

Skulls, utensils & flames? Usually this trio would make me raise my eyebrows, but I must say the addition of a chef hat really did the trick. Is someone planning to face off with Gordon Ramsey in the future?
