Die, Die, Die My Darling

Consider yourself lucky if you haven’t heard the Metallica cover of Die, Die, Die, My Darling. It’s awful. Beyond awful actually, I just don’t know the synonyms to describe that intelligently. With that being said, I’m thankful the tattoo below by Brent Olsen is much better than the Metallica cover.

A new way to submit

Recently we’ve started receiving submissions via our Twitter page, like the tattoo below from Kuffdam. Submitting via Twitter is interesting because we never really planned for it to happen. We’ve always accepted submissions at TattooSnob@gmail.com, and that was it. I guess you could say tweeting us ‘@TattooSnob’ is a new way to submit…

Now before you starting tweeting us with your tattoos, please remember we do look at quality of pictures. Which means if you’re taking the picture your Motorola Razor, we’re probably not going to post it. Also remember lighting. This plays a huge affect on how your tattoo looks. Lighting will often over expose or dull a tattoo out, and we won’t be able to see what the quality really is. Lastly, don’t forget to mention whom the artist is. We always want to credit the artist, and we can’t do this unless you tell us whom did it.

With that being said, tweet us your submissions @TattooSnob!

The Memory Remains

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a fan of most band tattoos (no offense to anyone, just not my thing.) I think of bands that were popular years ago, and most are either long gone or have drastically changed. Few band tattoos are iconic, and remain popular decades later–hence my hesitance to ever receive a band tattoo of my own. It’s commentary about things like this that seem to lead to tattoos with a bit of a back story in our inbox.

Following a post about just that on the TattooSnob Twitter, we received these photos. Even though I’m not a band tattoo kinda guy, I still have to say this is pretty awesome. Metallica is obviously a legendary band, and many would argue one of the greatest.

James Hetfield signing Kuffdam

Kuffdam included, “I’m a huge Metallica fan, seen them 31 times live. This year I won a comp to meet them so got my leg signed by them and had the new album cover and digs signed.”
