Die, Die, Die My Darling

Consider yourself lucky if you haven’t heard the Metallica cover of Die, Die, Die, My Darling. It’s awful. Beyond awful actually, I just don’t know the synonyms to describe that intelligently. With that being said, I’m thankful the tattoo below by Brent Olsen is much better than the Metallica cover.

We are 138

“We are 138″ is the newest art show being presented by Hope Gallery Tattoo. As the name implies, the show pays tribute to The Misfits and will be opening this Friday, June 4th at 7pm.

Hope Gallery Tattoo has been posting mini interviews with a number of the artists that have submitted pieces. As of right now, you can read interviews from Dan Smith, John DunbarJoe Capobianco, Phat Joe, Steve Whittenberger, and David Carbonell. All of these interviews are available on the Hope Gallery Tattoo’s Facebook page.

Halloween with Austin Tattoo Company

Next Friday night, the good people at The Austin Tattoo Company are throwing a Halloween bash next Friday night.

On top of the normal Halloween debauchery, the shop will be giving away tattoo gift certificates and Oliver Peck’s Misfits cover band will be playing live. I haven’t even started talking about the art show featuring work from Nate Beavers, Bob Tyrrell, Nick Baxter, Paul AckerDan Henk, and others.

Do I still need to continue to convince you to go?

Marilyn, my darling

I’ve always been a fan of these pseudo Misfits/Marilyn Monroe tattoo pieces. You see them pretty often (which has always been the reason I never got one) but rarely are they as well done as the one below.

I have to admit, seeing a solid one has me thinking twice about getting one…
