There was a man who was walking along a sandy beach where thousands of starfish had been washed up on the shore. He noticed a boy picking the starfish one by one and throwing them back into the ocean. The man observed the boy for a few minutes and then asked what he was doing. The boy replied that he was returning the starfish to the sea, otherwise they would die. The man asked how saving a few, when so many were doomed, would make any difference whatsoever? The boy picked up a starfish and threw it back into the ocean and said “Made a difference to that one…” The man left the boy and went home, deep in thought of what the boy had said. He soon returned to the beach and spent the rest of the day helping the boy throw starfish in to the sea….

It’s Friday the 13th, and whether you hate it or love it, the $13 tattoo special is once again upon us. A number of shops are holding various specials, so I would suggest checking with your local shop if you don’t see anyone nearby on the list below.

Before you take a look at the list of shops, please remember that tattoo shops hold special events like this for fun. That means if you’re extremely picky about what you want, this probably is not the day for you to get tattooed. It might not be a bad idea to dig out a couple of extra dollars to tip your artist as well. As much fun as it looks, these days are fairly stressful for the artists.

13 Roses in Atlanta, GA will be doing $13 tattoos plus a lucky $7 tip from 11am to 12am (13 hours!)

Daredevil Tattoo in New York City, NY has a $13 tattoo special, and has arranged for a taco truck to be parked outside of the shop as well!

Mercury Tattoo in Glenside, PA will be serving baked goods and coffee with their $13 tattoo special.

Skin Deep Ink Tattoo in New Mildford, CT has TEN custom pieces for the first TEN customers starting at 10am. Onces a design is chosen, it’s off the table.

Stained Skin and True Tubes in Columbus, OH have joined forces for the holiday! The $13 tattoo extravaganza begins at 12pm, and is cash only.

Sunken Ship Tattoo in Everett, WA will be let you pick a tattoo from the sheet below for $13 and a lucky $7 tip.

Cock A Snook Tattoo Studio in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK has flash sheets from each of their artists that they’re charging £13 for. Double that and you’d have the USD equivalent but hey, that’s still not shabby!
