The first promo video by New York Adorned has been watched over 151,000 times. I’m willing to bet the second video below will be just as popular shortly.

Artist Interview: Brad Stevens
A friend turned me on to the work of Brad Stevens before I moved to New York, and I’ve been a big fan ever since. It only makes sense that we interviewed this vegan heartthrob/new addition to New York Adorned before anyone else got to him!
All about Japan: I Stand with Japan
One of the first shirts to hit the market is courtesy of State of Grace Tattoo in San Jose, CA. Here’s what they had to say about the ‘I Stand with Japan’ shirt:
We have all watched in horror at the devastation following the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Like many people within the tattoo community, we wanted a way to show our support and solidarity. As luck would have it, Chad Koeplinger from New York Adorned was in town and excited to lend his illustrative talents to this shirt collaboration. Roman Enriquez of Strong Tattoo started it off by donating 100 shirts and screen printing. Tamiko and Miles Rast from Rasteroids Design, Suzanna Enriquez, Phillip Nguyen, Charlie Ngo and Colin Baker volunteered their time as well. We hope to raise some money for those in need and state prominently that we STAND WITH JAPAN.
All proceeds from this shirt will be donated to the relief efforts in Japan, and are currently for sale online.

What does it all mean?

Nerd Day: The man who invented the twentieth century
The portrait below is Nikola Tesla, the man who many claim ‘invented the twentieth century.’ He’s responsible for inventing a number of things, including the toaster, hydroelectric power, fluorescent tubes, and the Telsa coil.
How’s that for a nerd tattoo?

Keep it together
There’s some really amazing tattoos on seamstresses (both hobbyists and professionals) out there. I had never seen one specific to quilting until I came across the one below. I wonder if this hobby of the past will experience the kind of resurgence in popularity that knitting has… Any of you crafty-types have some insight?

Keep’em coming
I’m assuming the submission of this sleeve was due in part to my post about how I rarely see solid Oriental work nowadays.
Okay, you’ve proved me wrong. With that being said, please don’t stop sending in submissions like this. I could look at work like this green skull every day.

Friendship, love, and truth
I’m willing to bet the wearer of this half sleeve is one of those guys with an endless amount of stories. I’m picturing him telling the stories over a couple of drinks in a ‘no big deal’ manner.
That’s all I really have to say about this tattoo, partially because I’m still looking at all these different pieces.

Splash of color
We’ve posted quite a bit of work by Thomas Hooper, but this is the first color piece to grace our site.
While I love the color of this piece, I think I prefer the black and grey pieces. They seem more… authentic?

They call him “Crab Gut”
Some lucky son of a gun was able to get tattooed by Rachi Brains while she was in NYC at New York Adorned this month. Actually, I suspect it was more than just one person but my jealousy is so great that I have to lie to myself… just a little bit.
