Love the Love

See that clever title? It’s actually correct grammar since I’m making reference to Ashley Love, the person, and not love, the emotion.

I’m willing to bet I screwed that last sentence up. Please be gentle grammar nazis.

Ho Hum Holiday Specials at Sacred Tattoo

If you’re in the New York area today, make sure you stop by Sacred Tattoo for their ‘Ho Hum Holiday Specials.’ Pick up a new tattoo for $50 and a new toy, blanket, or gently used winter clothing. All items will be donated to the Coalition for the Homeless.

Even if you’re not getting tattooed, this is a great event to support during the holiday season.

Video: Behind the Needle at the London Tattoo Convention

Two weeks ago we posted a London Tattoo Convention video that was really really good. The video was produced by Papercut Pictures for Zeitgeist Magazine, and dives a little deeper into some of the artists at the convention. Here’s the summary they posted about the video:

This film moves on from the convention, as each of the artists delves deeper into their personal motivations for becoming a tattoo artist, their distinctive style of tattooing, their heroes, inspiration and who they like to get tattooed by.

This film features Chad Koeplinger of Tattoo Paradise in Washington DC; Michelle Myles of Daredevil Tattoo in New York City; Uncle Allan of Conspiracy Inc Tattoo in Copenhagen, Denmark; and Claudia De Sabe of Jolie Rouge in London.

Let the artist speak

I always love it when the artist has something to say about a tattoo. It’s one less thing that I have to write.

Interpretation of “Kiss me Deadly” by GenX on the amazing Katelyn Crane. If you haven’t checked out her work you SHOULD! More to come. Done at Hell City Phoenix. Now taking appointments for Las Vegas convention! -Timothy Boor

This Sunday, Red Rocket Tattoo will be opening their new location at 78 West 36th Street. If you’re not too familiar with the area, don’t worry – it’s only 100 yards away from their old location.

Jaw-dropping

I’ll just let the tattoo speak for itself on this one.

Religious Rats

Is it weird we posted two somewhat religious tattoos in a row today? Without getting too serious about it, I understand this tattoo probably implies something slightly different than the last piece, but it still makes reference to religon…

Face to Face hits tattoo shops

Well, this is an interesting approach to marketing a CD… the legendary punk rock band Face to Face has three events (that we know of) scheduled here in the US for meet & greets–at tattoo shops?
  • May 18th (today!) at  Kings Avenue Tattoo in New York City, NY. They will be joined by Corey Miller, who designed the cover of the album (Laugh Now, Laugh Later) . Meet the band and Corey, and enter for a chance to win a pair of tickets to the show that night at the Best Buy Theater.
  • May 26th at Ink & Dagger Tattoo Parlour in Atlanta, GA.
  • June 8th at Black 13 Tattoo Parlor in Nashville, TN.

Oh, and Ink & Dagger Tattoo wanted to let everyone know: “If any ladies want Trever Keith to sign your ass, we’d happily ink it on and send you away with a permanent reminder of your encounter. Just something to consider.”
