I know work like this isn’t everyone’s favorite. And that’s okay, because sometimes it’s really fun to sit back and watch people fight in the comments. Except it’s Friday, so I think everyone should funnel all their aggression into making sweet plans for the weekend instead–that’s what I’ll be doing, anyway.

This Friday, October 14th, Golden Rule Tattoo will be celebrating their second anniversary at The Lost Leaf. Golden Rule’s artists will have an exhibition of their artwork, they’ll be grilling out, and the bar will have drink specials all night long.

I’m disappointed I couldn’t make it to Hell City in Phoenix this weekend, but thankfully they’re posting plenty of pictures to their Twitter account all weekend long.

If you’re in the Phoenix area, I would highly suggest going and checking out the convention. The Biltmore is absolutely ridiculous, and it makes for a very unique tattoo convention experience.

Artists Taylor Ryan and Alex Empty of Golden Rule Tattoo have teamed up to launch a collaborative art show, Interdependent, opening July 15th at Eye Lounge in Phoenix, AZ from 6-10pm. Featuring dozens of pieces in mediums such as acrylic, watercolor, paper, wood, dye, pen, ink, collage and more.

The artists had this to say about the show:

After working and tattooing together at Golden Rule over the last year, the impact and influence we have on each other has fueled a massive expansion in our art output. Our collaborative work shows not only the influence of each other’s distinctive styles, but also the synergy we have cultivated. We will be showing individual work exclusively from this period as well, demonstrating our process from both angles.

They even have a nice little video snippet to give you a taste of what you’ll be attending!

This video of High Noon Tattoo sounds like it has a funeral dirge going on in the background. That being said, it actually goes quite well with the feel of the footage. Kudos!

Let’s ignore the fact that this video from Hell City Phoenix is over eight months old. Instead, I think everyone should focus on the video, and enjoy it. In all seriousness, if you’ve never been to Hell City Phoenix, you really are missing out. Watch the video below and you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about.

It’s not too late to book your rooms for Hell City Phoenix 2011, August 26th – 28th. How many other opportunities will you have to attend a tattoo convention at a world famous resort for $100 a night?

Bringing the likes of Jonathan Montalvo and Juan Salgado together can only mean one thing: a really fucking good tattoo studio. While they have yet to post a date for the opening of Color Conspiracy Tattoo Gallery, sometime this spring/summer their doors will be open to the public.

If you start now, there’s plenty of time to justify a trip to Puerto Rico to add a little more color to your skin in more ways than one.
