Each time I see an old timey portrait tattoo, I hope there’s a photo hanging on a wall somewhere with the exact same face & color composition. Surely I’m not the only one?

Now that all of the artists are home, more and more pictures from the Detroit Motorcity Tattoo Expo are being published online. Hopefully we’ll see pictures from MusInk soon, which took place this past weekend out in Southern California.
If anyone has any pictures from Detroit or MusInk, we’d love to see them. Send them to TattooSnob@gmail.com!

Reader Bjørn-Magnus shot us an email to show off this portrait of his grandfather portrait done by one of Norways best realism artists, Electric Linda. More work will be added at a later stage to give the sleeve a more Northen Norway vibe to it, I’m told.
He freely admits that the video below was heavily inspired by the, and I quote, “awesome sick Russ Abbott 3-day-sleeve you posted.” Personally, I don’t see anything wrong with wanting to chronicle your tattoo experiences–be it in video or photo form.

If you’re going to get a tattoo that in any way relates to weed, you must make it at least this awesome. But there’s more than just weed to be seen in this amazing leg sleeve, as you’ll see once you make your way through all of the thumbnails below.
My jealousy knows no bounds, guys.

As an avid fan of Claire’s work, I feel like I’m not doing her justice by posting just one piece. Take the time to browse this woman’s astounding portfolio and I’m willing to bet you’ll find yourself emailing her to see when she’ll be in your neck of the woods. (She’s a traveling type, I’m told.)

Aaron recently went to Lowrider Tattoo Studio, and has this tattoo done as a tribute to his Mother. The reference picture was taken from a portrait back in the 70′s.
Good call to Aaron for trusting this piece to the crew at Lowrider Tattoo. The portrait work that comes out of that shop is always top notch.

At this risk of sounding a little weird, I have a huge image-only crush on whomever the boy in the portrait below is. Is this normal?

I know what you’re thinking, “Wu Tang title for a Johnny Cash portrait tattoo? Really Julene?”
Yes, really. Wu-Tang and Johnny Cash are totally the same level of amazing, decades and genre differences aside.
