I’ve heard rumors about a tattoo reality show similar to this for a couple months, and this is the first official video I’ve seen from it. Yes, I know… another tattoo reality television show. Before you roll your eyes though – you should know the three artists involved are Roman Abrego, Dee Dee Seruga, and Jessie Smith.

The show isn’t filming yet, as they’re stil fund raising to shoot the first pilot. They’re trying to raise $50,000, and they want you to donate. Here’s their sales pitch:

Our goal is to shoot a full episode. It will be a lot easier to sell our concept to a network when we can show the full cast living and creating in Tattoo Manor. Miami Ink was the most successful reality show of its kind. Allthough it was watched around the world by millions of viewers, it was missing one important factor. It did not gain the respect of the ” tattoo industry .” We have gathered 10 of the most well respected artists in the industry today. With that X-Factor, we have the a sure fire recipe for success.

Before I pass judgement, I want to hear more. I don’t think Roman, Dee Dee, or Jessie would commit themselves to a show they didn’t believe would benefit the industry. I’m also interested in hearing whom the other seven artists will be.

I’m interested in hearing your thoughts on this. Do you think this could be an improvement over New York Ink? Would you rather watch this or Best Ink? Do we need to go in a complete opposite direction and go towards something like Classy Ink? Obviously the tattoo reality shows are going to continue to be pitched, but do you really think one could ever be successful?
