What happened to the new skool?

Julene and I were talking about the fact that we don’t see a ton of ‘new skool’ tattoo work. Neither of us could really pinpoint why that is. The work is bright, interesting, and it’s amazing when it’s done right.

If anyone has an opinion on why that is, please feel free to leave it in the comments below. I’m interested to hear what everyone has to say.

Seeking a variety of submissions

Since posting my entry last week about the misconception of Tattoo Snob being a traditional blog, we’ve received a handful of untraditional tattoos. This is just one of the submissions, but we need more!

Send your videos, tattoos, and events to TattooSnob@gmail.com. Please make sure you reference the artist and their shop, as we always give credit where credit is due.

Stackable Russian ladies

It’s no secret I’m a fan of Russian nested doll tattoos. I like the bubbly-eyed, borderline cartoon quality of the ones below – plus Scott Olive’s use of diverse color palettes is quite pleasing to the eye, don’t you think?

I raise you a lobster-cock

Julene,

I see your tusk-ola and t-rex kitten, and raise you a lobster-cock.
