LOL

I really enjoy the composition of Troy’s tattoos; they remind me a little bit of Deno, though not in color or style. Whatever, I dig it. LOL!

Friendly recommendation

An artist recommendation from a tattooer (can) hold more weight for me than anything else. So a serious hat tip to Jakub Settgast is in order for cluing me in on the work of Chriss Dettmer.

CM Rutledge hits Iowa

For some reason I had no idea mentally blocked out that there are conventions going on during the winter months, especially in the midwest. CM Rutledge will be at the Best In The Midwest convention in Council Bluffs, Iowa from February 10-12, FYI.

Life and death

Someone told me recently there was “no reason” to post work from Thomas Hooper because, and I quote: “everyone’s already seen it.”

I think I speak for anyone who doesn’t get their dick outta joint due to jealousy when I say there are many reasons to post Hooper’s new work, and that I’m going to keep doing so until the cows come home. (Or the internet explode, whichever comes first.)

Kings and Ravens

It’s amazing to consider how much diversity there is within the realms of tattooing; when I think of the black and gray tattoos I would see in tattoo magazines I picked up in the bookstore more than 10 years ago in comparison to pieces like the one below… well, it’s good to know old art can still learn new tricks.

Nathan Kostechko does NYC

Looks like Nathan Kostechko has a brand spankin’ new website–and we all know what that means: new photos! Additionally, Nathan’s told me he’ll be hitting NYC one week a month for the first quarter of 2012.

His first visit is slated for January 23rd-29th, so now would be a good time for you to book an appointment.

Until then…

Since Julene briefly made reference to our new website on her Twitter page, it’s ok for me to mention it here right? Hopefully the new website allows us to post images wider than 550 pixels so I can show tattoos like this in full size.

Until then you’ll have to click here to see a full size picture of this tattoo.
