Blow it up day?

What would you think of a theme day featuring tattoos you can ‘blow up’ tattoos to see some amazing details? I feel like it could be a fun idea, and it could really feature some great color, shading, and line work that you don’t normally see.

This tattoo would have been a perfect candidate, but unfortunately I deleted the original e-mail and I only have this resized image now.

Religious Rats

Is it weird we posted two somewhat religious tattoos in a row today? Without getting too serious about it, I understand this tattoo probably implies something slightly different than the last piece, but it still makes reference to religon…

Widow among monarchs

Terri sent us this photo of the monarchs and widow she has tattooed on her chest. Or, as she called it, the “poise ‘n pleasure of life”.

She can-can

Most people think of a much darker themed piece when the name Dan Marshall is brought up. Maybe that’s what has me liking this piece so much; can-can girls, even ones that look like they might be up to no good, don’t have quite the same demonic feel as most of his work.

Only in NY Day: Tim Kern

Julene was actually a little vague in the last entry about the source of inspiration for New York day. The idea of a New York day happened is due to Julene’s relocation to the big apple.

The actual move took place yesterday, and I’m sure isn’t 100% complete quite yet but congrats Julene! I know you’re it hasn’t quite set in yet, but you’re finally there.

Elephant Day: End of the day drinky-drinky

All I can think about is the pink elephant scene from Dumbo while looking at this tattoo. Seems elephants have long days just like the rest of us…

Elephant Day: An evil rarity

Given that elephants are revered as a symbol of wisdom, it’s rare to see one portrayed in art as something evil. Looks like Dan Marshall’s got that handled now, though. The longer I stare at this photo the more sure I am I’ll be losing an eye.

So yes, there’s nothing but elephants for you today folks!

Unholy placement

If getting a neck tattoo wasn’t going to garner enough attention, I’m sure having a Satanic nun from Tim Kern will. Is it wrong part of me hopes this guy walks by several churches on a daily basis?

Black hearts club

Isn’t it ironic that Gogo got this black heart tattooed on her hand this past Valentines Day weekend?

Russian nested dolls

I’ve always been fascinated with matryoshka dolls, though I admit the ones I stacked together haphazardly as a youngin’ couldn’t really hold a candle to the one pictured below. Bravo, Tim!
